So often in life, we are asked our opinion on a matter, our position on a certain event, person or idea, and when saying we take that side or the other, yes or no, like or dislike may seem like our only option, it is a false choice. We don’t have to fixate our minds on one belief.
Andy Puddicombe shares that “the danger of holding too tightly to a particular belief or idea is that we must limit our minds to do so.” And curiosity cannot be limited. By the very nature of being curious, our mind needs to be free to explore ideas, follow what tickles it, and wander.
Meditation shows us how to keep our minds open and share how to be comfortable entertaining many ideas without clinging to one. Because when we cling, we stop being able to see all kinds of aspects of life from different perspectives. A curious mind is limitless and frees us to discover what life will bring us, perhaps something we never thought of before. It is by embracing curiosity that we find our way.
