Over the past few months, Elon Musk has given a one-track mind to the growing victimization of white people, especially straight, white men. Here’s a deeper look at Musk’s recurring themes and the facts that support them:
“Whites are the fastest dying minority.”
Musk posted it in January and it has received more than 17 million views. I will give credit when it is due. Whether talking about world population or just America, Kasturi is right on this point. White Americans remain the largest ethnic group overall, but their share is shrinking.
The US population is aging, and white Americans make up a disproportionately large portion of the older age groups. For example, 73% of Americans aged 65-74 and 77% of those over 75 are white. Analysis of the 2020 census suggests that Gen Z will be the final generation in which white Americans make up more than half of the population. Gen Alpha (born 2012 and later) is projected as the first “majority-minority” generation.
A demographic analysis noted that white people, broadly defined as those of European descent, once comprised about 20% of the world’s population but now constitute about 16%.
- “Over the past decade or so there has been a relentless hate and venomous campaign in the West against white, straight or male.”
Posted in February, has been liked by over 365,000 users.
There is no credible evidence that the past decade has seen “unrelenting hate and toxic propaganda” directed at white, straight, male people as a group in Western countries. A perception that exists among some white men is that their status is declining — a perception documented in political science and sociology — but this is not evidence of organized hostility or propaganda campaigns.
A 2025 article in Social Science explains that support for authoritarian or far-right leaders often comes from white men who believe their status, honor, or cultural standing is under threat, even though these threats are perceived, not empirically demonstrated.
- “No more guilt trips. Enough.”
Musk added this about anti-white, anti-male attitudes in the same February post.
Musk’s belief that white people are suffering a “crime trip” comes not from evidence of organized hostility, but from his own interpretation of cultural and demographic changes. His recent statements show that he has framed changes in social norms, diversity efforts, and public conversations about history as an attack on white, straight men. This view reflects perceived status loss, not documented promotion.
Over the past few months, Musk has repeatedly posted about race, often using language that suggests white people, particularly white men, are being unfairly blamed or marginalized. These posts give us a clear window into why he believes this.
- “They are openly advocating white genocide.”
A compilation of migration clips posted in December
Musk has repeatedly claimed that political rhetoric in South Africa is tantamount to calling for genocide against white people. For example, he responded to a protest stage by saying:
“They’re calling for the genocide of white people.”
However, a South African court ruled that the slogan in question was not a literal call for genocide but a historical anti-apartheid slogan. Musk interprets it differently because of his personal history in South Africa.
Musk agreed “yes” in a post claiming that white people must choose between “conquest, slavery, rape and genocide” or “restoring our race.” These accounts are not policy makers, governments or mainstream institutions. They are extremists or anonymous social-media users. Musk’s claims are based on online rhetoric, not identifiable groups with real power.
- “Now South Africa has more anti-white and other racial laws than there were anti-black laws under apartheid!”
Musk has made repeated claims about South Africa.
There is no evidence that South Africa has “more anti-white and other anti-racial laws” than the anti-black laws that existed under apartheid. Every credible historical and legal source shows the opposite: apartheid was a pervasive system of racial supremacy encoded at every level of law and governance. Nothing in post-1994 South Africa resembles that scale.
- Musk has repeatedly claimed that white people face hiring discrimination and that public figures and AI systems are “racist against white and Asian people.”
There is no evidence that white people face systematic discrimination in hiring and no evidence that AI systems are “racist against white and Asian people”. What it does have is evidence that AI systems can reproduce or amplify any racial biases they are trained on, and that human reviewers tend to copy AI biases.
- Musk posts about race “almost daily” — 850 posts in 182 days — with more than half containing the word “white.”
According to an April 2026 analysis based on data reported by The Independent and reviewed by The Washington Post:
- Musk has posted about 850 times in 182 days about race.
- Six percent of all his posts during that time were about race.
- Half of these race-related posts included the word “white.”
- His posting rate about race has tripled over the previous two years.
- He posted about the race about once a day between October and mid-April.
Kasturi has become increasingly obsessed with race and has voiced her beliefs on X to her 230 to 238 million followers, more than anyone else in the world.
- Musk called on white people to “stand up for their nation.”
These quotes provide a solid factual basis for a critical analysis of Musk’s discourses around whiteness, victimization, and demographic concerns. A Former Tesla investor The report cites Musk as aligning himself with posts calling for white people to “reclaim their race,” which Musk either amplified or agreed with.
Musk cannot be too concerned about the fate of the white man. He is the same man who oversaw the DOGE cutting jobs from people of all races, though he hit minorities harder. Musk has never been known to care much about humans, which makes his new concern for white men highly questionable.
