“A sojourn provides a place to both consciously and unconsciously, to be fully present in the moment – aware and engaged. However, if we simply travel and forget to savor the journey along our life’s path, constantly moving and focused on our next step, then we are not actually fully engaged in our lives. – A quote from Savoring the Abroad: Satisfy through the seasons as you discover your masterpiece
The evening chorus sang their song, and the last light of evening streamed across the lawn. Violets have self-seeded over the years, and looking for a photo opportunity in the new book on gardening, it all seems to capture beautifully what the guiding premise is. Savoring the diaspora. And in about three months, you’ll be able to explore this approach to living well and building a life that you love to live and that makes you come alive.
What you see above has been enjoyed for a moment and has now been shared to announce that we have finally arrived at the day when pre-ordering will begin.
Rest assured, the gray banner in the middle of the cover will be removed on September 15th after your pre-ordered copy arrives, but I wanted to capture a photo of the book for you, both hardback and paperback. It is real. Signed copy Savoring the diaspora Your hand is ready to be held, and I can’t wait for you to be able to do it.

It’s been over two years since the writing began, and the gallery Gallimard seen in the IG story below is now too full with scribbles, exings out, circles, checkmarks, and you name it to hold any idea I’d entertain for the book, it’s there. And now, it’s not even that clean (there may be evidence of a teacup being placed on top of it at one point 😉)
From that notebook of ideas to now a book ready to be sent out into the world for all of you to read and explore. Most importantly, this is my hope Savoring the diaspora It will be a source of encouragement for you both to muster up the courage and a reminder to stick with the idea you want to bring forth as well as to slow down, take your time and live each day so well that you are eager to experience where you hope to get to, you don’t want to rush the precious thing now.

Below is the book description shared on the back cover:
The art of tasting along the journey to create a masterpiece
An important component of successfully creating or learning something new involves understanding how the process works.
We all have masterpieces within us. They can be tangible in form, such as traditional art – a painting, an invention, or a novel, or they can be the spark of an idea, ideas entertained but not yet embraced, skills waiting to be honed and put into practice, wondering if we’ll find the courage to share them with the world – a business skill, even a skill that serves as a brainshield to craft furniture, a new language for designing a cottage garden or an inviting website or skills The list is endless, and no masterpiece is too small or out of step with what a masterpiece can be, as long as it fits two criteria: our true inner self, and our willingness to release it beyond our control upon completion. After all, each of us has many masterpieces waiting patiently in the queue, hoping that we will muster up the courage to make them come true.
However, often, fear prevents us from finishing, or even starting the creative process to bring our ideas to life. Essentially, what we are considering is a leap into the unknown, a journey without a map (or so we think), setting foot on an unfamiliar path, a challenge we have yet to successfully complete. While others may do something similar, we haven’t done it for ourselves yet.
The reassuring good news is that our fears confirm that our conception is correct, and further, the path to creating masterpieces is well-worn, with great success, each creation completely incomparable. what is A four-part cycle of journeys in parallel.
With the wisdom of Mother Nature’s four seasons, paired with the expertise of positive psychology researchers, professional musicians, business educators, psychologists, and philosophers, Shannon Ables teaches a four-part cycle to complete a masterpiece, while savoring each journey.
As we learn to savor each season on the calendar—a dwelling place, temporary in its duration, yet a place where we live three months of the year—our ability to understand the four-part cycle of creation: acquiring new skills, evaluating, adjusting, and then, releasing, eases our minds so we can fully commit to creating. This understanding then becomes something we enjoy as well.
Specific ideas for savoring the four seasons in all areas of our lives – daily routines and rituals, decorating our sanctuary, cultivating a garden, cooking simple meals, many more. little joyAnd outfit ideas for a trip to France as well as Britain that tie in with our everyday capsule wardrobe – fill in the four seasonal chapters of autumn, winter, spring and summer. Each chapter also includes skills to foster genuine satisfaction. Discover the benefits of mindfulness practice, learn how to regulate the nervous system for stability to enjoy stretching yourself to complete each masterpiece, and how to strengthen confidence in the journey we choose.
