The holidays are supposed to be full of laughter and joy, right?
I remember the promise of a shiny tree, brightly wrapped packages, baking warm cookies. As children, we were willing to dream and enjoy the wonder-filled moments of the season.
As adults, we are conditioned to end ourselves. To check the list and then maybe, if we are not too tired, and the room is not too messy, we can relax.
When did we stop enjoying ourselves? When did we leave the joy of existence?
Our lives eventually become this rat race and the person with the longest list wins…
We always say we’ll stop and regroup later. When things are less stressful. But later it doesn’t come. Moments and days of our lives fly by and we never take time to do the things that matter most to us.
What makes your life delicious? Is it a warm hug? A sweet smile? A loving word?
Connection and enjoyment are what we all want. Yet we are so busy, we miss! Who cares if the tree is arranged just so, or the cards are mailed on time with perfect flourishes on the signature…
Where is the warmth and love in your vacation?
If you missed it, take a few minutes now to connect. If your mind immediately reminds you “NO TIME!”, notice it and gently put it aside. our Primitive brain Can get caught up in the struggle, and in the process, never realize that what it wants most is right in front of it!
We have learned to earn love by many doing. So we try harder, busier and busier, hoping someone will finally give us the love we’re looking for.
It may also be time to learn some new skills. If you’ve been so busy trying to be worthy of love and connection, you haven’t developed the skills to make it easy and playful. You wouldn’t let a 5-year-old drive your car, so why use the social skills you learned in kindergarten to connect with other adults now!?
We do it together Break from your shell package To help you upgrade your ability to connect and find enjoyment and warmth to fill your life with more wonder.
And you can tap to open yourself up to a more joyful holiday season!
Hand Side (Karate Chop): Even though I thought I had to work hard for joy and love, I choose to allow the warmth of connection in the moment.
Even though I thought everything had to be perfect before I could enjoy myself, I want more joy… and I invite it into my life now.
Even though I’m trying so hard, and it actually shuts me down and makes me cold and distant, I like to take a deep breath and enjoy my life in the moment and right now.
Above the head: I have a lot to do.
Eyebrows: I can’t slow down now.
