In life, when we find an activity, a hobby, or even a career or calling, in which we engage, we feel energized. The passion we feel is what we have deliberately tried to do and succeeded in finding – what we enjoy doing. Meditation is similar in that we do not meditate to relax, although in our modern world, it is set to motivate us to practice the skill. Actually, and I think, if you’ve been meditating through this series for a while, you know, meditation is about understanding our own mind better. And as a result of learning how not to get caught up in our thoughts, we find comfort, peace, and tranquility. In this way, we feel more at ease because we’ve keyed on how to constructively manage our minds, something that, for many of us, can feel completely out of our control until we realize the opposite.
When we understand our mind, we begin to make better decisions in all areas of our lives. And, as we make better, more nutritious decisions, our lives become more comfortable; Relaxation is not a moment we need because it is already involved in our days – every one. When we live a contented life, we live a life that is at peace, a life where we feel comfortable every day, no matter what is swirling around us.
By choosing to learn the skills that meditation teaches, we give ourselves a power that we’ve always had the ability to apply to our lives, and especially to our minds. With these mindfulness skills, one way is to change how we design our lives, how we engage with the world, and through our choices, when guided by mindfulness, relaxation, calmness, and ease. We meditate to keep those muscles strong so that we not only feel a sense of relaxation while we meditate, but throughout our day.
Let’s continue its maintenance. . .
